I have been exercising for the past 20 years and loved working out so much, constantly trying to learn more about exercise and nutrition, that I decided to become a personal trainer. A year into training clients, I decided to enter into my first bodybuilding competition and followed it up with a Figure competition placing 2nd in each. I didn’t realize it at the time, but living such a regimented and strict lifestyle during competitions led me down a dangerous path and I developed an eating disorder. It took me a long time to overcome the negative relationship with food that I had, as well as change my “all or nothing” mindset, but now I live a healthy life and enjoy the foods I love while still staying healthy & fit.
I have 2 beautiful children (one daughter and one son) whom I absolutely adore! We live with our 3 dogs, 1 cat and 1 guinea pigs. Yes, we have a house full! My favorite activities are dancing, relaxing, playing with my kids, exercising, traveling and swimming.
During my journey, I have learned that being “in shape” isn’t all about what you look like on the outside. Being fit and healthy encompasses everything from your mind to your heart to your physical being. Anyone can show you how to work out and eat right, but if you don’t get your mind right, you will put the weight back on and the yo-yo dieting will continue. Developing the right mindset is just as important as having the right exercise and nutrition program. I focus on you as a person (mind, heart and body) and how we are going to work together to not only achieve the results you are looking for, but to also maintain those results so you leave the yo-yo dieting world forever. What gives me the greatest joy is helping my clients and watching as they transform their body and lives, achieve their goals and maintain their results.
